There are a number of prerequisites for becoming a member
of the AGO. Here is a quick summary:
Only natural persons who are physicians in the field of gynaecology qualify
as Full Members of the Association. The focus of their scientific and clinical
activities should lie in the field of gynaecological oncology.
Full Members of the Association also have to be members of the German Society
for Gynaecology and Obstetrics (Gesellschaft für Gynäkologie und Geburtshilfe,
DGGG) and the German Cancer Society (Deutsche Krebsgesellschaft).
Only natural persons who are physicians specializing in gynaecology and
have an optional further training qualification in 'specialized surgical
gynaecology' qualify as Full Members. The focus of their scientific and
clinical activities should lie in the field of gynaecological oncology.
Associate Members must also be members of the German Cancer Society (Deutsche
Krebsgesellschaft). Only natural persons who are physicians or scientists
(e.g., if a specialist qualification for gynaecology and obstetrics has
not yet been obtained) qualify as Associate Members of the Association,
and the focus of their interests should lie in the field of gynaecological
oncology.
Supporting Members may be natural persons and legal entities with an interest
in gynaecological oncology.
The Board may nominate persons who have rendered outstanding services through
their support for the Association's aims or otherwise as Honorary Members.
